Technologies

Technologies we use to create Web or Stand-alone applications:

.NET is a software development kit created by Microsoft. Programs written for the .NET Framework execute in a software environment that manages the program's runtime requirements. This runtime environment, which is also a part of the .NET Framework, is known as the Common Language Runtime (CLR). In this environment its possible to create software that works on the servers(Internet Information Services) as well as on the computer systems with implementation of this platform.

ASP.NET (Active Server Pages) is a set of web application development technologies marketed by Microsoft. Programmers can use it to build dynamic web sites, web applications and XML web services. It is part of Microsoft's .NET platform and is the successor to Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) technology.

J2EE (Sun Microsystems Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) is a programming platform, part of the Java Platform for developing and running distributed multitier architecture Java applications, based largely on modular software components running on an application server. The Java EE platform is defined by a specification. Similar to other Java Community Process specifications, Java EE is also considered informally to be a standard because providers must agree to certain conformance requirements in order to declare their products as Java EE compliant; albeit with no ISO or ECMA standard.

JSP (JavaServer Pages) is a Java technology that allows software developers to dynamically generate HTML, XML or other types of documents in response to a Web client request. The technology allows Java code and certain pre-defined actions to be embedded into static content.

XML (The Extensible Markup Language) is a W3C-recommended general-purpose markup language that supports a wide range of applications. XML languages or 'dialects' are easy to design and to process. They are also reasonably human legible, and to this end, terseness was not considered essential in its structure. XML is a simplified subset of Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML). Its primary purpose is to facilitate the sharing of data across different information systems, particularly systems connected via the Internet.

XSL (The eXtensible Stylesheet Language) is a family of Functional programming languages which allows one to describe how files encoded in the XML standard are to be formatted or transformed.
